We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager in Carlsbad, CA.
This is a full-time, permanent, salaried position with a trusted operator. Our client places employees at the forefront. You can expect a compensation package of $90,000 – $110,000 annually plus a 10% bonus target. This role is hiring immediately.

Qualifications
- 5-10 years of payroll processing experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and eTime is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of California wage and hour laws and federal payroll regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Proactive learner with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to investigate, document, and resolve payroll issues efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Healthcare industry payroll experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing operations to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
- Oversee payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports, ensuring proper documentation for audits.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll records.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend updates to payroll systems and procedures.
- Lead and mentor payroll staff, handling recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with Shared Services team on special projects and payroll-related initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership team.
